Happy Clients & Testimonials

Kevin and his team are great - they made sure that we got our wine kits on time and facilitated a lively, fun, and educational tasting. Most importantly, my team all agreed that the wine was delicious! If you’re looking for a fun, group friendly activity - look no further!
— Kat Sun, Head of Operations, Passportshipping.com
I joined 10 family members for a virtual wine tasting this afternoon. We had a fabulous time!! The wines were amazing and our host, Stacy, was wonderful. She was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the Voluptuary virtual tasting experience to anyone looking for a fun team building experience or family event.

Most private events add on a private hosted tasting. Some add on food, custom packaging, team building activities or other custom options.

  • Tastings are typically 40-60 minutes, although they can be as short as 15-40 minutes for a shorter tasting, or up to 60-90 minutes if desired.

Tastings typically start with 3-5 minutes of everyone logging into the Zoom call, with some meet & greet & chatting. Then we will give a brief introduction of our host & winery before beginning the wine tasting. After that we spend 5-8 minutes on each wine (flavors & winemaking notes, food pairings, music pairings, lifestyle pairings, & literary pairings), up to 10 minutes per wine if there are more questions, comments and conversation (which is highly encouraged!). The overall experience is typically 40-60 minutes. For a full breakdown of the event flow, see this document.

  • Our holiday wine tasting kits are shipped throughout the US in holiday-themed packaging, and inside is the perfect lineup of holiday-themed wines, including our port and mulled wine! The lineup: L.02 “Urban Flora” Rose, v.03 “The Lover” Picpoul Blanc, L.07 “Delirium” Cabernet Sauvignon, A.06 “Port” style Late Harvest Dessert Wine, L.08 “Wanderlust Red Blend” with mulling spices & honey!

    HOLIDAY FOOD PAIRINGS

Add on our wine & food pairings to take it to the next level. Gingerbread men, candy canes, chocolate, “reindeer” (venison) jerky & more, perfectly pairing with your wine.

HOSTED HOLIDAY VIRTUAL PARTY WITH WINE!

Hop online and party with your team! Our hosts & sommeliers will guide you through the wines, food, and special holiday themed pairings (including holiday music, holiday movies, holiday pairings and more!). Hosted on Zoom or the platform of your choice.

  • We are glad to customize your tasting in just about any way you desire, within practical limits. While our standard tasting format has extremely positive feedback and suits most groups, we have gladly customized tastings to be shorter as part of another event, integrated them into conventions and fundraisers, composed "pairings" with company offerings & technology, and trained client staff to run the tastings themselves. We are glad to discuss your customization request and create an event that works for you.

  • Our standard tasting experience is already quite educational, engaging, interactive, and fun. It includes wine tasting, winemaking info, food pairing discussion, music pairings, life pairings, literary pairings, and more, so it's a lot of fun!

The extra activities take it to the next level. Bingo & Trivia add a really fun element and increase laughter and conversation considerably. Winemaker's Secrets with trivia is a fun mix of education and trivia. The circus performances add a major flair to your event. More details on activities here. For a sample of the trivia questions click here.

  • Yes! Almost daily we create custom branded at home wine tasting kits. Each wine bottle will be labeled with your custom design containing your company’s logo, tagline, and/or imagery combined with the wine’s legal info.

Our custom-labeled wine bottles have been trusted by Google, PWC, BCG, and thousands of other companies.

Custom labels for your 5-wine pack is +10/pp.

You can also add-on gift notes for $5/pp with your custom message & branding.

  • Assuming they are not literally non-drinkers, then yes! We have juice tasting kits for those avoiding alcohol. The juice lineup is composed of high-end, not-from-concentrate, no-sugar-added, very nice juices. The lineup is typically apple, pineapple, mango, cherry & grape. While it does not have the complexity or pairings of the wine lineup, it does allow everyone to take part!

  • Great question. All of our hosts are fun, highly professional, & knowledgeable and you really cannot go wrong. All are winemakers, sommerliers, and/or wine business owners, and all have hosted hundreds of wine tastings.

Typically, smaller events choose one of our fun & casual $150-$250 hosts such as Christina Orozco, and Michael Bogowitz, For a full guide to our hosts, see this document. or Cecilia. Larger events tend to choose one of our more seasoned veteran hosts at $250+. For higher-end and larger events, Owner & Winemaker Kevin Luther ($750) is the most popular option. For a full guide to our hosts, see this document.

Check the guide or ask our Event Organizers for seasonal pricing specials on hosts.

  • No! You can order 1 kit or 1000 kits and we’ll take care of you.

  • We have hosted groups from 5 to 1000 people, and all events were wonderful and clients and customers had great experiences.

In smaller groups we find that adding bingo or trivia helps keep conversation lively. In larger groups, we use certain features of Zoom to keep things from getting too rowdy, utilizing a moderator and starting people on mute to limit background noise is a good idea, so that folks can interact in an organized manner.

  • We fill our bottles & kits under scrupulous quality conditions & full COVID safety guidelines. We sterile filter all of our wines before bottling, sterilize all equipment, and sterilize the entire production room with ozone nightly. You can trust that the wine you are receiving is as clean as humanly possible!

The mini wine bottles are gassed with Nitrogen then filled with the chilled wine, and sealed with a screwcap with a set torque rating to ensure a tight seal and finally labeled. The wines then go into cold storage before being packed & sealed.

Under these scrupulous and clean production methods, our wine tasting kits have a shelf life of months to years, but we strive to pack & ship them within days or at most weeks of bottling. We bottle weekly and keep stock as fresh as possible for maximum quality & freshness.

Before shipping, wines are chilled to just above freezing (roughly 45F), and placed in their final packaging.

We do all of this to ensure the wine you receive is in peak condition. Upon receiving, we suggest refrigerating the wines until an hour or so before tasting for maximum quality, but this is not strictly necessary, as the wines are 100% shelf stable.

  • We can use whichever platform your prefer.

We are glad to host the event on Zoom, our preferred platform, utilizing our corporate account.

Alternatively, we can utilize your platform of choice on your account, and regularly host events on Google Meet, GoToMeeting, WebEx, and more!

  • We request attendee shipping info by 14 days before the event, but can accommodate any timeline; rush fees may apply in certain circumstances. We can ship as close to the event as the day before if need be.

  • We ship to all states except UT & AL. We also have options for Canada through our Canadian wine tasting kit partner. For AL & HI we charge an additional fee as kits must go by air.

  • Tax & shipping are included in our flat rate pricing, so there are no additional fees! The only time there may be additional shipping charges is if you request rush shipping (policies & rates here)

  • Once we have confirmed your event and received your order, we will sent you a single invoice via Quickbooks, with an easy payment link.

Payment for your group bulk wine tasting kit order and virtual tasting can be made with credit card, check, bank transfer (ACH), or an unmarked briefcase full of bills (kidding not kidding).

  • Give us a call at 916-384-0076, email Jordan@voluptuarywine.com, or click the button below to schedule a quick video call to plan and confirm your event.

  • The overall experience is typically 45-75 minutes, most commonly 50-60 minutes, but can be customized as long or short as desired.

Before the event: -15 minutes to 0 minutes (start)

Our wine tasting host will sign in to the event 5-15 minutes before the event to ensure that the link and technology is all functioning correctly. If your point of contact can sign in beforehand as well, that is much appreciated. If we do not see you on the link by 5 minutes beforehand, our host will text or call you to check in and ensure that we are all logging on to the same link and all is well.

Meet & Greet: 0 minutes to 5ish minutes

From the official event start time until ~5-10 minutes in, guests will be casually logging in and saying hello. There will be some meet & greet & chatting as late arrivals log in. At roughly 5 to maximum 10 minutes after the official start time, we can casually chat and wait on late arrivals.

Client Intro, Host Intro: 5ish to 10ish minutes

Once everyone or at least enough people have arrived to start, your event organizer (you, your point of contact, your boss, or whomever you would like) can give an introduction. Perhaps greeting everyone and introducing your wine tasting host. Or depending on the event, perhaps a longer speech if that is the nature of your event. Then our wine tasting host for your evening will give a brief introduction of themselves, our winery, our winemaker, and the 5 wines we will be tasting.

Wine Tasting: 10ish minutes to 50ish minutes

The core of the event is the wine tasting itself.

We spend 5+ minutes on each wine (flavors & winemaking notes, food pairings, music pairings, lifestyle pairings, & literary pairings), up to 10 minutes per wine if there are more questions, comments and conversation (which is highly encouraged!). We will prompt everyone to ask questions or make comments either in the chat section or to unmute themselves and comment/speak/ask questions out loud.

Can we customize the event flow?

We are glad to customize your tasting in just about any way you desire, within practical limits. We have done short 10-15 minute tastings as part of larger events, integrated them into conventions and fundraisers, done "pairings" with company offerings & technology, and more. Let your event organizer at Lucid Wines know if you would like to plan a customized tasting flow.

What about the add-ons (trivia, bingo)?

If you have chosen trivia, the trivia questions will be peppered throughout the tasting experience. We will spend less time on the wine pairings, and more time on the trivia, to keep the overall experience within the 45-75 minute range.

If you have chosen bingo, we will introduce the bingo at the beginning of the tastings. The bingo squares will be things we might talk about during a tastings, and therefore flows seamlessly with the 45-75 minute tasting.
